“Samantha is a fabulous wedding planner. She was there for us every step of the way, from the time of booking to the end of our special day.
Always very responsive to any our queries, Sam ensured everything was exactly how we wanted our wedding to be.
Reassuring, kind, and with a cheerful disposition, Sam worked closely with us and took all our worries away, incorporating the owls and falcons we had booked seamlessly into our timings and ensuring our immediate family were well looked after and enjoying themselves”.

Emma and Paul continued:
“The E-Lope team work very well together and came together to dress the venue according to styles and colour schemes we loved. The end result surpassed our expectations and kept us smiling the whole day.
Ruth created the most amazing bridal bouquet and buttonhole, taking on board the story of how we met and the styles we loved: using beautiful fragrant flowers wrapped in silk ribbons.
Fleur was in incredible photographer who ensured every magical moment was captured beautifully and creatively. Keeping us relaxed and above all enjoying the experience.
Tania, the venue manager worked closely with team E-Lope and us, she was a delight, even helping me into my wedding dress (having previously owned a weeding shop).
Clare from Touchay’s created our wedding breakfast, catering for various dietary needs and it was exquisitely presented and also delicious.
Our wedding cake was simply stunning and designed by Serena, of Cobi & Coco. It was an absolute masterpiece.
WOW, ladies!! You surpassed all our expectations, and gave us a truly wonderful wedding! XXX Thank you”
Emma & Paul
In February 2022, Emma and Paul celebrated their intimate elopement at Castle Westenhanger. This was a day filled with love, laughter, and personal touches that made it truly vibrant. With just six adult guests (including their two witnesses) and a young child in attendance, their wedding truly reflected how meaningful and unforgettable small weddings can be.
A Unique Love Story
Emma and Paul’s journey began in the most unexpected way. They met at a charity Christmas obstacle course race, where they were both dressed as crayons. Paul stepped in at the last minute when someone else couldn’t make it. Dressed in purple, he was paired with Emma, who wore a red crayon outfit. Their colourful beginning became a special part of their story, inspiring their wedding colour scheme and the overall theme of their day.
Walking Together Into Forever
Emma and Paul chose to walk down the aisle together for their ceremony, symbolising their partnership and the journey they’ve taken. This simple yet powerful gesture set the tone for a day filled with love, equality, and connection.
A Soundtrack of Soul and Classic Hits
Music played an essential role in creating the atmosphere for their wedding. Their ceremony and reception featured timeless tracks from The Beatles, Marvin Gaye, and The Supremes, adding a soulful and nostalgic vibe that perfectly reflected the couple’s personalities.
An Intimate Castle Celebration
The ceremony took place in the Minstrels’ gallery, and the paperwork was signed in the Dovecote. The Dovecote is an intimate and historic space that provided the perfect setting for their micro wedding. The small guest list allowed Emma and Paul to spend quality time with each loved one, creating memories that felt both personal and profound.
A Day as Bright as Their Story
The purple and red colour scheme was a tribute to their first meeting. The two crayon colours were woven throughout the day. This included their floral arrangements, dƩcor, and even the finishing touches on their naked cake, adding a burst of personality and colour to the celebration.
Final Thoughts
Emma and Paul’s wedding shows that elopements and micro weddings can be as vibrant and memorable as any large celebration. With just a few guests, meaningful music, impressive birds of prey and a story that began most unexpectedly, their day at the Castle Westenhanger was nothing short of perfect.
