Once we have created your bouquet and buttonhole, your tablescape is something we want to ensure it’s picture-perfect. So, nothing makes us happier than when we can put the “sweet” and lots of romance into your sweetheart table.

Depending on the size of your elopement, your sweetheart, family, or your top crew table is a unique table created for you to share on your wedding day, either just the two of you or with a few family and friends.

What could be more romantic than having your little table for two on your wedding day?

When you sit down for your wedding breakfast, whether indoors or outdoors at one of the castles, it is a place post your wedding ceremony and photos to sit down, catch your breath, eat, sip on champagne and spend quality soaking it all iI on your tiny wedding day.

What is the sweetheart table?

A sweetheart table is simply a table solely for you two (our favourite number) decorated for you, the newlyweds and laid out in or outside the castle.

A sweetheart table is where you sit one-on-one, in peace, often with a view of the fire if your reception is, e.g. indoors or if the weather permits, we will seat you under the thatched gazebo with the perfect view of the Castle Westenhanger.

A Family Table includes your immediate family, including your children, parents or grandparents. Adding friends to your guest list makes your table the top crew table.

With more guests seating, we will customise the space, which might include arranging the seating around all sides of the table or tables or setting up a horseshoe table suited for larger parties of up to ten people, that includes the couple.

Don’t forget if there are more than you two, you can also choose to have traditional speeches. However, you won’t need a microphone to be heard!

Creating your sweetheart, family or top crew tablescape

Further when eloping, we want to ensure your sweetheart, family, or top crew table is extremely photo-worthy and provides you with a VIP intimate experience.

Over the past two and a half years since we launched E-Lope Kent when putting their Pinterest board together, any reference to their wedding breakfast table styling has been pretty much overlooked by every one of our eloping couples. In fact, we would love some tablescape elopement inspiration from you.

What to include in your Pinterest Board

When thinking about your castle sweetheart elopement tablescape, please include some ideas/references on your Pinterest Board (This is the Wedding Owl Board) showing what tablescapes you like. But, also, when completing the online form for your elopement, please do let us know your likes and dislikes. This is really important as we want to make sure, as your creators and stylists, we don’t go off-piste and present you with something you don’t like, for example, a gorgeous bouquet but it turns out you can’tcan’t stand a specific colour tone or a particular flower.

What is included on a Sweetheart Table?

When creating your personal sweetheart table, family or top crew tablescape, we will include:

cutlery
crockery
drinking glasses
folded or tied napkins
your re-purposed ceremony flowers (which are likely to be a combination of real flowers and high-quality silks)
and depending on your Pinterest Board, props
some romantic candles to match the colour scheme or style.

Specifically if there are small items you want to include in your sweetheart tablescape, like gifts, favours, name cards and sparklers, for a twilight elopement, please let us know in advance so we can incorporate them. And don’t forget to give them to us on your arrival.

If you want to add, for instance, more flowers to your sweetheart tablescape, as perhaps you want to take them to another venue, please let Ruth of House of Mimi Fleur, the florist, know so that she can charge you accordingly.

Consequently, one elopement party took their flowers as they paid more on top of the package to Chapel Down Winery Restaurant in Tenterton for their evening meal, where additional guests joined them. And another took their additional flowers onto The Pig at Bridge

Choosing your wedding colour or colours for your sweetheart, family or top crew table

We love inspiring images that capture your elopement mood & vibe. For example, if you are going black tie or rusty orange boho. Whatever you choose to share with us ahead of your elopement, your table decor should complement the overall aesthetic of your intimate day.

Please don’t worry or try to give us your Hex colour codes (special codes shown next to the tablescapes representing colour values from 0 to 255) as we work them out by looking at your collective Pinterest Boards.

What style should my sweetheart, family or top crew table be?

When putting your Pinterest Board together, try not to don’t think just about your wedding flowers or wedding cakes. On your Pinterest board why not also include some inspiring tablescape ideas you love?
